This project was conceived, supported and manifested through Coro’s Immigrant Civic Leadership Program, a partnership with the Mayor’s Office of Immigrant Affairs, One NYC One Nation, and The New York Community Trust.

Cheers to the 2011 Coro ICLP fellows and staff who nurtured this project from idea to execution, especially Cristina Marquez.

Shout outs to Cindy VandenBosch, co-founder of Urban Oyster Tours, including the fabulous Street Vendor Tour and Immigrant Foodways Tour, Mark Foggin, Coro alumni, and current mentor at Pratt Design Incubator for Sustainable Innovation, Andrew Silverstein, a lifelong New Yorker (current Queens resident!) and co-founder of Streetwise New York and Monisha Bajaj, Assistant Professor Education in the Department of International and Transcultural Studies at Teachers College, Columbia University.

Photography by Neha Gautam, a Jackson Heights resident and extraordinary storyteller who creates magic with her images and takes people to different worlds. Check her out!

And most of all, thank you to each immigrant storyteller who is leaving their mark, their legacy on New York City and the nation.
